How’s Ur Weekend?

Past couple of days were particularly tiring days for me and Yvonne. We were helping Yvonne’s sister to travel around the town hunting for furniture, doors, toilet bowls, air-con, water heater, lightings, electronic appliances, and lots lots more. You name it, we were there ‘hunting’. Lorenzo, Johnson Suisse, HSL, Onking, Panasonic, Mitsubishi etc. My in-laws are shifting house and my sister-in-law wants everything in her new house to be brand new. So, who’s the sucker who can help. Yvonne and me.

Why? Bcos Yvonne’s an Interior Designer and me, her husband lor, nothing much. hahahaha

We have seen so many things that we have to jot down everything in pieces of papers. Believe me or not. My brother-in-law has so many things in his head that it takes him minutes to response to our questions..

We have also seen many people. Nice, friendly, beautiful, ugly, responsive, blur, chatty. But one particular one happened to catch my attention. We were at one of the franchised electrical chain store in SS2.

I noticed him the minute I stepped into the shop. Why? No, no. He’s not at all good looking. He was there serving customer. But the way he speaks and acting is totally “ang moh” wannabe. Ok, I am not jealous bcos he can speak ‘like ang moh’ (I can speak better lar ;p) But what happen after the customer finished buying their stuff? This fat fark “changed” back to be the typical cina apek. Is it bcos we are Chinese that you look down on us? Come on lar, we are all Malaysian. No need to act lar.

Later, in the same shop we were checking the prices and brands for water heater. I don’t know why my in-laws really like Panasonic things (no offense to all Panasonic die-hard supporters ;p). This fat fark salesman came over acting ‘lan si’ and ask “is it necessary you take Panasonic water heater?”. Ok, that my patience hit the ceiling liow.

Me: Not necessary. But preferably!

Salesman: Then it means necessary lar.

Me: No!!! I didn’t say it is NECESSARY!!

Eh, ang moh wannabe fat fark salesman!! Do u know the difference between NECESSARY and PREFERABLY!!? If you farking don’t know, go back to your poor farking god-forsaken pig sty and dig a goddamn hole to look for the meaning!!! Don’t come out and bark your way through thinking you are so farking good you can tell a customer off “is it necessary you take Panasonic water heater?”

Thank goodness my in-laws didn’t end up being a sucker buying from this stoopid salesman’s shop. We went to another shop that offers those electronics way cheaper, and we spent hours there testing, testing and testing hahaha

Guess what… I am so very tired today. And sleepy too…

Do You Have B.O.?

Have you ever encountered a situation when you were happily shopping in a mall, enjoying the sight and view of all the girls items there. Suddenly, you got this foul smell lingering in the air where you go, “…pheeeww, what n where does that come from…?” and you almost fainted by it.

Ya. I am talking about the famous “B.O.” (Body Odor). Do you have B.O? Ok. Ok. Never mind, you don’t have to tell me (bcos I don’t wanna know too… hehe)

But one thing that perplexes me is the fact that many people DO NOT KNOW that they have B.O. And if you go on asking people “do you have B.O.?”, surely you’ll say “No!”. Some (mostly the male species) will even say it’s their “manly smell”. Yuck!!!

Come on, man. B.O. is the smell of bacteria that grows on your body bcos you have sweat, perspired. Though it is specific for each individual, but people really ‘beh ta han’ with your smell!!!

You think what..!!! People like your smell so much ar..!!? Or you think you emit nice flowery fragrant ar..!!? Hell, NO!!! Tell you something, YOU SMELL LIKE SH*T!!! YOU SMELL LIKE A BLARDY SKUNK!!!

It’s about time (in fact it’s high time) that you go get yourself some many, many those blardy deodorant!!!

My Specs Glass Chipped

Got Invited For Karaoke On Friday

Got an email from Maggie (our Project Admin aka boss’ sexytary lar hahaha) before lunch today. Boss would like to belanja makan dinner and then go for karaoke. Rejected the invitation.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not an anti-social SOB. But, in fact, I am not a karaoke person. Don’t really like shouting my lungs out in front of the crowd. May be after a few drinks, can lar… hahahahaha. Err, cannot also. After a few drinks, I think I won’t be singing anymore. I might go shouting “… YAAAAAAAM SEEEEENGGG!!!!” hahahahahahaha

The only time I ‘really’ sing is when I am bathing, singing “ .. loo laa laa… loo laa laa… loo laa, loo laa, hey… ” (no mic needed man… hahahahahahaha)

I Am A White Devil

Hai ya… always thought that I am an angel… kekeke (dunno shame 1 hor… hahaha). Some more, isn’t devil red??? (now this is getting me blur blur). Never mind lar… White Devil I am… hahaha. I Got Bombed Red…!!!

The Two Women In My Life

According to the global survey, Malaysia is a retirement haven… We ranked 7th in the 29-nation poll. Malaysia has become a favorite retirement haven for foreigners. wow!!! yeah!!! yippee!!!

Wait!!! What’s with the BUT!!? Ranking 7th not good ar??

The survey also shows that Malaysia is only up by 0.1 in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2007, scoring 5.1.

That no good?? Eh..!! We are getting better in fighting corruption, you know…

Have You Got Enough Sleep?

Sleep. This is a state of natural rest observed throughout the animal kingdom. It doesn’t matter be it human, mammals, reptiles, birds or fish. Everybody needs sleep. Not getting enough sleep will render you and I being irritable, short tempered etc… don’t you agree.

I still remember during my college time… spending long hours at night to complete my assignments, project work, including hanging out with friends at the nearest cafe into the midnight. But, do you know that lack of sleep has more than twice as likely to die of heart disease? I didn’t know that myself until I read this article in the http://www.reuters.com/.

It’s not a good idea to cut down on your sleep and squeeze a little bit more time either for your work, friends or clubbing. That is why I go to sleep at 10:30pm every night nowadays. Quit smoking. And cutting down on alcohol.

Tell you something… They affect your sex life too… drastically.

Isn’t The Punishment Enough

Isn’t the lost of their beloved child is big enough a punishment for Nurin’s parents. Why punish the parents? Yes. The law is still the law, and nobody is exempted. But when the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz said that Nurin’s parents will be hauled up for negligence following Nurin’s abduction, and her tragic death, this is ABSURD!!!

Why not concentrate your will and might to catch the assailant/murderer/monster (whatever you want to call him/her). Why punish the parents? They might be at fault for letting little Nurin to go out into the street. But Nurin’s death is a punishment too many for the parents.

Can we do some justice here for the little girls who had became the victims to the sick psychopath that is still at large. Whose daughter will be the next victim? Is the statistic going to go up? Is Malaysia such a “sick” place with “sick” people wandering the street preying on innocent young girls?

Browny Got A Fur-Cut

Took Browny for a fur-cut last Saturday. He has his fur all tangled up while playing with my nieces and it was no longer possible to ‘untangle’ those lump of fur. So I have no choice but to bring him for a new cut.

I told the owner at the pet shop to maintain a “Baby Cut” for Browny since my wife and nieces don’t exactly like the standard, typical, Poodle cut. She suggested to bald that poor fella since some part of Browny’s fur are tangled badly, and then to let the fur grow back to its beautiful shape.

At that moment, this was playing in my mind, “botak doggie for kiddos..? Err… can ar..??”. So I told the lady, ”No lar… not very nice wo. Somemore don’t know whether the kids like it or not. Just try to maintain the Baby Cut. Can hor..?”

2 hours later, I got this cute, little my Toy Poodle Browny back. His fur was trimmed to lesser than 1 centimeter long, except for his ears, tail and 4 paws. Hahaha… so damn cute. I couldn’t stop laughing whenever I see him in the house.

So very cute…

Browny Is 1 Year Old

Yeah…… this month marks Browny’s 1st-year-old birthday.

Though my wife and I don’t know Browny’s exact birth date. However, got to know from the pet store owner that he was borne in the month of September 2006.

So we assumed that he was borne in early September last year.

Happy Mid Autumn Festival

Just not long ago I posted a short article about the Mid Autumn Festival (or well known as the Moon Cake Festival here)...

Today is the 15th day of the Eighth Month in the Chinese Lunar calendar. Tonight you’ll see a very beautiful full moon in the sky (provided it doesn’t rain lar hor.. hehehe). And households will be lighted with lanterns and candles to celebrate this auspicious day. Oh ya, not forgetting the tasty moon cakes.

Mid-Autumn Festival is Around the Corner

This year, the Mid Autumn Festival falls on the 25th September and it’s just a couple of weeks away. Have you eaten any moon cake?

I have… In fact, I am a moon cake lover. Crazy about them. So you can guess where all the moon cakes that my mom bought went to last time… ha ha
Still remember those moon cakes I ate when I was still a boy. There were only a handful of taste and flavour, like the ‘tao sar’ and the ‘lyn yong’ (lotus paste). You can also have the moon cakes with egg yolk and at times you’ll get the moon cakes with ‘kua chi’.

On the auspicious day (I mean night) itself, we’ll light up those paper lanterns and brothers, sisters, friends will gather around and play together. Sometimes we’ll go for a long, long walk with our friends taking along our lanterns.

But, now things have since changed…

Don’t get me wrong here… Of course you still get to eat moon cakes nowadays. But the moon cakes have ‘evolved’ so much that new and innovative flavours have been created. Even the packing has changed. I know it’s to meet the all-demanding of people’s taste and demand.

One thing that has changed drastically is the lantern itself. Youngsters nowadays will not understand the beauty of a lantern being lit by candle. What do they get now?
Of course, they get the battery operated lanterns. With musics…
So, you’ll ask where do the candles go??

I bet I’ll see many households being lit up with battery operated lanterns again this year.

Hungry Ghost Festival

This month (7th month in the Chinese calendar) marks the Chinese Hungry Ghost month. In fact, the Hungry Ghost month started on the 13th August 2007 this year.

Just as Halloween is for Americans, the ‘Hungry Ghost festival’ is for the Chinese. And this is a very important festival taken seriously by the Chinese in many countries. Prayers, offerings, burning of ‘ghost’ money, joss stick, candles, etc.

In Chinese, it is called the YUE LAAN (HUNGRY GHOST) FESTIVAL. It is believed by the Chinese that during this month, the gates of hell are opened to free the hungry ghosts who then wander to seek food on Earth.

Throughout this month, you will see people lighting small fires by the road to burn offerings like paper money to make the ghosts more comfortable. There are offerings of food items like steamed chicken or roasted pork. Other food items like rice, orange or apple will be left on the street as offerings.

The reason why the Chinese celebrate this festival is to remember their deceased family members and pay tribute, and to appease them, as well as to ward off bad luck.

It is a common sight to see entertaining ‘concert’ and ‘performance’ on outdoor stages in some neighborhoods and the Chinese temples. These events are always held at night. There is a belief that this entertainment would please those wandering ghosts.

In this month, children are advised to return home early and not to wander around alone at night. This belief is due to the reason that the wandering ghosts might possess children.

The Chinese regard the 15th of the month as an important date to give a feast to the ghosts. On this date, the family will cook a lot of dishes and offer them to the deceased. This is done to please the ghosts and also to gain good luck for the family. 15 days after the feast, the festival will be over, as the Chinese believe that the ghosts return back to where they come from.
