Seems like it is unavoidable. Bersih 4 is just around the corner 29 & 30 August 2015 will mark the days in the history of Malaysia where massive gathering of Malaysian in record will come out to the street to demand for fairness in the electoral process, and above all the stepping down of our PM Najib.

Accusations and allegations of corruption - 1MDB, 2.6 bil etc.

Just a couple of days before our Merdeka Day.

Are you ready?

What's gonna come after that?

A Dilemma

I trust that up till today, this moment, this minute, every one of us would have been put or faced with situation where you do not wish or do not want to be in that position or even to be the person with that kind of authority, to decide and make a call and put in action certain thing that happened around you.

And I think most of you reading here will unconsciously nodding your heads hehehe  Smile with tongue out

But this is a real story which I have heard and I was dumbfounded when this friend of mine was willing to share this little secret of his life.

Ok, this is how it goes.

Imagine that you are at the stage of your career in an educational institution where you’ve been well recognised by the senior management of your company.  But one fine day, one of your senior directors came to tell you that:

SD: Hey, we hv got a situation here.

You: Umm-Hmmm. What is it?

SD: You see. One of our students, NAME, who is the son of the President of XXX (country).  But yesterday, he had invited one of his friends, a lady, for a drink in a pub.  And after the drink, they went up to the roof of the pub for a chat.

I think the boy was a bit of drunk, and started molesting the girl, and then sexually assaulted her.  Now the girl is in my office, crying and traumatised by the incident.

You: (Obviously shocked by the incident) What!? We gotto lodge a police report!

SD: No. You see. The boy is the son of the President of XXX (country). And we have a very good relationship with the country and also every year, they send lots of students here.  I want you to take charge of this case and “settle” this case.

This is the situation. What are you gonna do? There are 2 ways to handle this situation.

1) Take the girl to the nearest police station, and make a report against this boy.  And face the consequence of being sidelined by your senior management, and certainly there goes the prospect of your career.

2) Go into your SD’s office. Sit the girl down and convince her that she consented to what that had happened on the roof. And tell her that there is no chance of her winning the case since there is consent to that incident. And you will be highly regarded by the senior management of your company, and very quickly you’ll get promoted to a senior position with a fat pay cheque.

How would you handle this?

Damn… I’m getting old, man. Need people to help me decide on trivial matter like this. hahahahaha  Smile

Life is all about Survival!

Has anyone personally had a real-life experience where u got urself into trouble just bcos u wanna help someone close to u? I have had heard loads of those. Wife got into prostitution to pay for hubby's debts. Man went bankrupt for defunct partnership with girlfriend, etc.

But now it is really happening right in front of my eyes. This woman got herself into so much debts that banks keep calling her to pay her outstanding amount n she gotto cash-out more money using her credit cards to pay for her debts. All bcos of her brother!

This story gotto start around 2 yrs ago. They were a very good n close knit family where all the family expenses r shared amongst the siblings, n since they were staying in a fully paid-up house, therefore they got nothing to worry about paying the bank loan repayment for their house. But thing has made a 3600 turn about 2 years ago when the elder sister managed to persuade her parents n siblings to move to another house, very much bigger n more expensive.

There started her trouble. With her brother's n sister's salary r so low, she practically gotto help pay out for most of the new house repayment while waiting for her brother n sister to give the money back to her. To make the matter worse, they went on to get a brand new car after selling off their old Nissan Serena, which was also fully paid at that time.

So now, what has happen? Shit has hit the fan!

Banks keep calling her to pay for the outstanding debts as she has already defaulted for a couple of months, as she can't even manage to pay for the minimum payment for the cards. Although her brother n sister do give her some money to "pay" for whatever installment for the house n car, but those money is not even enough to cover half of the repayment amount. And we have not even mention the money they gotto spend for food for the family, the kids n parents.

Today, i heard that she went to her bank to cash-out some money using her credit card. Guess what the money is being used for? To pay the debts of her credit cards!

Damn!!! As we all know, banks will charge a very high interest rate on money cashed out using credit cards. But now she has "got no other choice" but to do that. N she is putting her legs deeper into the "pile of shit"

All these happen just bcos of one thing. Just bcos he is ur brother. Just bcos ur sister can't make ends meet by her meager salary. Just bcos u wanna protect ur brother n sister. And u r not willing to "force" n "chase" them for money. So now, u r getting into big pile of shit urself. U r cracking ur head to figure out how the hell u gonna clean up that load of shit, since ur brother n sister couldn't give u enough money to even cover their own share.

"Life is All About Survival" U alone can't b a hero n help others while u r not in any good state whatsoever. So it's high time that u take some action to get back those money that u help pay for them, n let them know that u r not much different compared to them. U r not their "money tree"! I can bet my last penny, they r not gonna thank u for helping. Why? It's bcos they r so used to it already! "Sis is there to cover, no worries"

Even if u get into trouble n even get sued by banks, they will not b able to help a bit. So what u gotto do now is to think of ur own survival. Who's gonna take care of ur children? Who's gonna pay for ur food? Who's gonna pay for u when u get sued for bankruptcy?

Do You Have Bad Breath?

pic courtesy of Wulffmorgenthaler.com

Many of us do not realize tis... but till when u realize it, it's too late. All ur friends will b at least 10feet away from u. And those who does know u will b trying very very hard 2 conceal d revolting feeling inside. IT IS UR BAD BREATH!!

All of us were taught by our parents since young age dat brushing our teeth will keep our mouth n breath fresh. But is tis true enough? Yes, and No. We know tis very well.

So, then, wat do we do 2 keep our breath 'fresh'? We'll start of wit mouth wash solution. Then we'll floss our teeth. Brush our teeth after each meal. Some resort to taking minty sweets in a desparate move 2 keep thier mouth "fresh".

Further many also know dat smoking will cause our mouth to smell. Then wat do smokers do 2 keep their mouth fresh? I know a few will do those above starting from mouth wash to taking minty 'fresh' sweets. N many just dun give a f**k!

But how do u keep ur mouth from having bad breath?

Damn 'Malu-fied' Situation At Work

I was having a training session with a group of audience last few days, when my friend George called me.

He: Daniel, come.
Me: What's dat?

He pointing at his laptop wit one of his hands rubbing his eyes, n me started reading wat's on it. It reads
"Jordin Sparks Died Yesterday"

I was in fact shocked by wat im reading, n looking at d situation i was in, i only managed 2 say, "oh... wat a waste (of talent, i mean)". Then i asked, "so, how did she die? What happen?"

George made a click on his keyboard n another web-page popped out. He, once again, pointing at the screen, expecting me 2 read again.

N guess wat... do u know how Jordin Sparks "died"?

So I Am A Chinese or Indian Huh...!!? And U..?

This is so confusing... a boy came home one day and asked his mother "mommy, am I Chinese or Indian?". Mommy replied, "darling, u r a Chinese"

"But mommy, why my friends at school say i m Indian? Then say i got dark skin, so i m Indian", the boy claimed. The mother tried to explain, "darling, ur dad n mommy got married, n u r our son. And ur dad is a Chinese n mommy is an Indian. So u might have gotten mommy's gene for the dark skin. But u r a Chinese by origin" The boy seemed satisfied with mommy's reason.

Then the little boy asked, "mommy, my friend Jamal in school say he is a Malay. But i see his daddy looks like my daddy. I think he is a Chinese. Why Jamal is not Chinese?"

What's Worth Of Life?

It's a rainy day here over in town... n just finished my lunch. So i decided to talk a walk down from my office at d 7th floor. I finally landed myself at the 5th floor.

Gazing out from the parking lot, looking at the rain drops from the sky onto the field in the stadium just next to my office building. It's so relaxing which makes u wanna go home to ur love one n cuddle up 4 d rest of d day. But, there is something that catches my eyes in a sudden. There's a sort of like a commotion in d field. Not human though. There's a group of birds jumping excitedly around in the field, near to the football goal post.

I wonder, "what's the thing dat causes tis group of birds so excited?" But upon looking carefully through the heavy rain, I see that there's one poor little bird in the group is stuck onto the net.

"OMG!" i thought, "what can i do 4 tis poor little life?"

Quickly i went back to my workstation n login to the web 2 look 4 a contact number (any sort of contact) which i can get hold of d people in charge of d stadium so that they will b "responsible" enuf 2 safe this poor little soul. It will definitely die if left unattended for d rest of d day with the weather condition here.

But what do u know... didnt even manage 2 find any contact number to get hold of the people in charge in d stadium office. *sigh... my heart feel so sad. What can i do for tis poor soul? Do i just forget about it? Or do i walk over 2 d stadium knowing dat d stadium gate will b locked tight without anyone entertaining u even u shout ur lungs out?

Then this thought comes 2 me. All of us would've watched many documentaries in the telly where fierce predators preying on weak n helpless animal, n d camera keeps on shooting n recording wit d crew watching without lending some help 2 'safe' tis poor helpless animal. Dont they feel sad? Or is tis bcos of parasitism? Should they have intervene, then the cycle of life will be disrupted, or disturbed.

Is tis fate? Is it fated that tis certain prey should b in tis position that will b preyed by tis certain predator?

Now, back 2 d poor little bird which is stuck onto d net in d stadium. Is it fate that it should b there to complete d cycle of life?

Safe from others who don't, some belief that there is a cause for all actions, n the cycle of life continues even after we die. Then reincarnated again.

I really want 2 help tis poor little soul. But im not able 2. I feel so helpless. Now, im praying dat someone will come n help tis poor soul. N praying dat if the cycle for tis little bird ends here, today, it'll rest in peace n b happy in d hands of God.

Sure Or Not...!!!

I am feeling very uneasy n quite apprehensive when i read that the cabinet "decided there will be no more increase (in petrol price) this year"

Fuel price increases capped

PUTRAJAYA: There will be no further increase to the price of fuel in the country this year. This is despite the possibility of the global price of oil reaching US$200 (RM654) per barrel, as forecast by some analysts.

This latest decision by the Cabinet came on top of various measures announced on Monday to help the Government cut costs and channel more subsidies to low-income earners.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said to stem any more increase, the Government would have to think of alternative ways to finance its spending.

“Since the Government announced the new price last week, fuel prices have gone up to US$139 per barrel and is still hovering at US$130.

“In fact, the price of oil is expected to remain at high levels in the months to come. The high price of oil means that the market price of petrol at the pumps have now reached RM3.45 per litre,” he said, pointing out that the price should be reviewed to RM3.15 per litre (with a discount of 30 sen) instead of RM2.70 beginning next month.

“However, the Government realised that the rakyat is still trying to adapt to the higher petrol prices. The Cabinet has thus decided there will be no more increase this year,” he told reporters at his office yesterday.

If the global price of petrol should ever drop, Abdullah said the Government would make the necessary adjustments with the 30 sen discount still being given.

When announcing the new petrol price on June 4, Abdullah had said that prices at the petrol pump would be adjusted monthly to reflect the global market price.

The current price for petrol is RM2.70 per litre while diesel is sold at RM2.58 per litre, following an increase of 78 sen and RM1 per litre respectively last week.

Abdullah said it had also been decided that the more than one million civil servants would receive their salaries fortnightly effective August.

“The first instalment will be in the middle of the month while the second will be at the end of the month. Deductions such as income tax and Employees’ Provident Fund will be made from the second instalment.”

~ end ~

Lets take a look here. What happen to the manifesto, pledge or promise before the last general election? But when the global price reaches USD$130 or so, those learned 'analyst' out there said that it is not possible but to hike up the fuel price from our comfortable RM1.92 per liter, otherwise it will be a heavy burden for the country to subsidize the people. Some even said that the country will be running on deficit should the petrol price increase again n the government still subsidizes the people.

So now the cabinet decided that there will be no increase of fuel price here for this year despite the forecast by some analysts of the possibility of the global petrol price reaching USD$200 per barrel.

What if this "possibility" realizes next month? I mean what happen if in reality the global petrol price really reaches USD$200 per barrel?

William Shakespeare's Hamlet, he wrote "
To be, or not to be, that is the Question:" Will our beloved n learned cabinet ministers might need to think
"To Raise or Not To Raise, that is the Question:"

You have given your pledge n promise that there will be no increase in petrol price in this country for this year. Will you go back on your words? Will you increase the petrol price from now RM2.70 higher despite whatever said n promised?

p.s. this is a rant by an ordinary citizen who is trying to make ends meet with his meager monthly pay check

No Smoking

Since that there is a law stating that it is against the law to smoke in an enclosed public area, I wonder when will they impose such law as to prohibit smoking in the car with child in.

hmmm... i guess we'll see lots of this happening here, rite... hahahaha

"Perfect" Scenario, Not...

Think about tis...

U just came back from ur company trip (yea... tis time not able 2 bring ur family along, so u went alone) So when u walked into ur house, u would 'expect' 2b greeted by ur beloved family members, wife, children n pets.

But, tis is not usually the "perfect" scenario that we want it 2b.

So U r tired after a long flight home... adding to it, u gotto tolerate the excruciating taxi ride from the airport, where the cabbie just "flew" (n i mean literally FLEW) on the expressway.

U opened ur house main door, stepped in. What did u see? It's in the same condition as u left "it" a couple of days ago. U feel glad n happy that everything is fine in ur home. BUT on the other hand, Where Are Your Love Ones?? U called out, "Honey... I am home" but was only b greeted by the sheer silence of ur home (tranquility eh... tis is the irony of it)

Then u remember that ur spouse once said, "Oh... if u r out on ur business trip, i'll b at my parent's" And finally, u "found" ur wife there. U said lovingly to her, "Hi hi... darling, how r u?" but wan only being stared with "cold" eyes by everyone in the house. Silence struck the room.

Then from the corner where ur wife sit, "What r u doing here!!? U r not welcomed here!"

WHAT!!? Have I just heard a very UN-welcoming statement that came out of my wife's mouth?? Is she not glad to see me? (damnn... i am. But tis soon turned out to be "i was") Silence, once again, filled the room...

p.s. the situation illustrated above is purely fictitious, and any resemblance to existing person/situation is merely coincidental. Any judgment/decision/conclusion that you make is purely yours and the writer shall not vouch for the accuracy of which judgment/decision/conclusion.

Wanna Change My Car

It's really a hard decision to make here... After deciding to change my job to selling chee cheong fun, now Daniel n wife is planning to change their car to a bigger wan... why?

Many people say it's actually a good car for a small family like Daniel has. But i got one tiny itsy bitsy 'problem'. It's when we bring Ethan out for either shopping, makan-makan, or jalan-jalan at the park. We gotto bring along Ethan's stroller n his car seat .

So after putting the stroller at the boot of our car and the car seat affixed for Ethan to sit during the ride to our destination, there'll b no 'extra' space left in our car.

"Imagine we decide to bring Ethan go shopping n 'decided' to get some stuff for our household. Where got place to put those stuff?" mommy asked daddy.

Daddy thought for a while, n replied, "hmmm... either we dun bring Ethan along or we dun buy those stuff" (n tis daddy ended up got a smack on d head from mommy )

What'd You Do?

Here's a simply quiz for you to fill your time in the weekend... provided U r very free ler hor.. hehehe Give it a thought before U scroll down to the end for the answer Here goes:

Many years ago in a small village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The moneylender who was old and ugly fancied the farmer's beautiful daughter. So he proposed a bargain. He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his daughter.

Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the proposal. So the cunning moneylender suggested that they let providence decide the matter. He told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.

1) If she picked the black pebble she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven.

2) If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven.
3) But if she refused to pick a pebble her father would be thrown into Jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's field.
As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked two BLACK pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from the bag.

Now, imagine that you were standing in the field. What would you have done if you were the girl? Or if you had to advise her, what would you have told her? Careful analysis would produce 3 possibilities:

1) The girl should refuse to take a pebble.
2) The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the moneylender as a cheat.

3) The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to safe her father from his debt and imprisonment.

Take a moment to ponder over the story. It was said that this story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking. The girl's dilemma cannot be solved with traditional logical thinking. Think of the consequences if she chooses the above answers. What would you recommend the girl to do? Take a moment to think about it before you scroll down for the answer.

~ ~ ~ Here's what she did ~ ~ ~

The girl put her hand into the bag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.
"Oh..! how clumsy of me" she said. "But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I've picked" Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the moneylender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an extremely advantageous one.

Moral of the story: Most Complex Problems Do Have A Solution. It Is Only That We Don't Attempt To Think

What'd U Do When U R In A Sticky Situation?

There r times in our life where all of us will b stuck in a "sticky" situation n then u dunno what to do. Then what u gonna do..?

Imagine that u gotto choose something of your favorite and your lover/darling/wife/girlfriend don't like it, or have chosen something different from your choice. What would u do? Stick to your own choice? or to follow what your other-half have chosen?

This is only the situation where you r to choose something tangible... How about in terms of making decision on some important stuff in ur life?

For example this "A" fella was having a discussion with his wife "B" whether they should stay with A's parents after their marriage or to move out n live their own 'yi yan sai kai' (in Cantonese, it means having their own 'world')

B: But, i dun wan to stay wit ur parents ler...
A: Why lar? Stay wit parents better mar... u come home after work got nice cook food ready
B: I dun wan lar... no privacy.. u know lar, ur parents always come n "kacau" us wan. Nothing, nothing also come knock on ur room door, just to 'say something'.
A: But, stay with parents hor is better wor... see, next time when we got baby they can take care for us...
B: Oh... r u saying i got no $$ to buy my own food n take care of my baby lar now..!!? Dun like to stay wit them lor...
A: Errr... no lar.. just say only. We discussing mar. Never mind lar if u dun like
B: U see... we oledi grow up mar.. so must not depend on mummy n daddy wan. U know what i talking hor..?
A: Err.. yeah, u r rite also but..... (thinking "die lor like this...")
