Bad Luck Really Comes In Three

So damn very suei for the past week, man... There is a Chinese saying "suei tou yao thau yao low" (that means ur suei very "complete"). Now I am really "suei tou yao thau yao low".

First that stoopid accident. Then gotto find out that my house is messed up by those stoopid in-laws of mine. And to complete the "Bad Luck Comes In Three" saying, Yvonne called. (She's driving her brother's Nissan Serena car to work 2day, since she spent a nite there yesterday)

She: Daniel, don't know what... brother's Serena window broke.
Me: HAR!!!!
She: Ya wor... don't know how it broke wor. You know, the sliding door window. I didn't know that until my boss came n tell me. So suei oh...
Me: ......

Year End Bonus. Got Arr..??

Year-end closing is now the topic of all of us, slaves. The only thing now in my head is "When is my boss gonna give me bonus?" ;p

Until....... i saw this circular

That answers my question why I didn't get any for the past years... hahahaha

25 Weeks Pregnant

Yvonne is starting to feel itchiness on her body especially her tummy. Then she goes on scratching her tummy... I reckon that it is bcos of the stretching of her abdomen that is causing the itching.

I read somewhere that massaging her body with olive oil or cocoa butter will help reduce the itching. But Yvonne can't do this bcos she's having sensitive skin (can say she's allergic lor) But the itching is a normal thing during pregnance as our little baby is growing in her.

Talking about our baby. He's about 22cm from crown to rump. And with is little ears fully functional, he'll be able to hear the sounds surrounding him. His brain is now growing rapidly and you'll be able to see a well-proportioned head and body at this stage.

Getting My Car Back Today

Anticipation. That's all i can say now...

Today I am gonna get my car back from the workshop after my accident. So many things that are running in my mind now. So many questions. Most importantly, how would my car be like after the accident? Would it be the same?

Things Not Going Smoothly

Things have not been good around me lately (in fact for the past 1 week). In the beginning, i thought my luck have been going up, up, and then i got this "performance award" from my boss. So very happy at that moment. But...... then it started.

My "suei" luck started. First, i got this stupid s*n of * b*tch that caused an accident and wreck my car. Then got pushed so many work to do by boss. Then those inconsiderate people who visited my house and have to make sure that my house is dirty as thiers!!!

Not So Happy Anniversary

~ ~ Sigh ~ ~ today is our marriage first anniversary and I would like to thank my friend, Maggie, for her lovely post wishing me and Yvonne. Thanks, Mag.

But today we are not able to celebrate our anniversary... (ohh... man.) bcos we had an accident while traveling home from my in-law's house during the weekend. (so damn suei, man) Don't worry, it was just a minor accident. But at that moment, in my mind, I was only concerned about my wife and her baby bcos Yvonne told me that she was feeling pain on her stomach. I'd even forgotten about my car at that moment. After I scolded that G*d D*mn F*ark*ing S*n Of * B*tch Who Stopped His Car In The Middle Of The Street, I quickly rushed Yvonne to the emergency ward and got her checked by a doctor.

Thank God, Yvonne and our baby is okay and doctor confirmed that she and the baby is okay.

So today gotto call in my office for an Emergency Leave and take my car to be fixed. HAI...........just can say that I am so damn suei...

But as I stepped into her room, "Boss (no lar.. i don't call her boss wan.. hehehehe), U looking for me ar?"

Short Conversation After Dinner

My sis-in-law, VL, suddenly asked me this question after dinner last nite, " U wanna apply for Streamyx rite..?" I didn't what to answer for a while with that question popped out suddenly to me. So I replied, "err... may be lor. I was thinking wanna apply for Maxis broadband. U know, the 3.5G wan.."

Since the last time I was planning to subscribe, it has been hard to decide. So many people telling so many things and so many opinions.

24 Weeks Pregnant

Are you still worrying about gaining too much weight during these few months that it's gonna be hard for you to lose it after your precious little baby is born? Then you shouldn't worry too much now. U know why? Bcos putting on 25 to 30 pounds in less than a year is a very normal thing during a pregnancy.

You'll ask, "why normal?". (I dunno lar... my teacher say u gain weight, then I put it in here lor.. hehehe) It's actually due to your increase of appetite, the feeling of well-being, and changes to your metabolism that you'll find it easy for you to gain weight. Don't worry, you body is doing well as it is doing what it is supposedly to do.

Since it's easy for you to gain weight, bear in mind to select variety of healthy diet, and snacks from cheese, plain yogurt, hard-boiled egg, fruits and vegetables, bcos much of your weight gain goes to your baby.

Hmmm.... talking about your baby, at this stage of his/her development, rapid eye movement has begun. He/she weighs about one pound and measures 21cm from crown to rump.

Remember!! NO SMOKING & ALCOHOL!!!

Getting Ready For 24th Weeks

As time flies so fast, I have just posted the stuff that we gotto know about 23rd week of Yvonne's pregnancy (I guess yesterday was the last day of her 23rd week kekeke).

Today I logged in to Yvonne's email n found that today is the start of her 24th week... why like that wan? I also lost touch of the weeks liow lately bcos of busy lor what else leh... hehehehe...

Blur.. Blur..

I was having a chat with my mum the other day about my younger sister's impending wedding next month. Mum told me that sister needs a cameraman to take their photos during the wedding (u know lar... we chinese got this tea ceremony, prayers, etc)

Then I asked mum about sister serving tea to me and Yvonne. What should we get for her har?? Should we only give her ang pow? Or should I go n get some nice jewelry for her n her hubby? Mum just said, "Up to u lor. Give ang pow also can... Give jewelry also can..."

First Anniversary

Since the 26th November last year (the day Yvonne and I started our little family), it's the time for us to celebrate our 1st anniversary. To be exact, it'll be next Monday 26th November 2007.

Last nite I ask her how are we gonna celebrate, and any particular present she wants since it's our first anniversary. Then she said,

"Present..? There (pointing at her tummy). You've given me the present I wanted, though it's a belated one"

At that particular moment, I have goosebumps all over my body and tears almost came out of my eyes. I am so touched by her response, I didn't expect this response from her.

23 Weeks Pregnant

You may felt the tightening of your lower abdomen during this stage of pregnancy, and this period of contraction and relaxation of the uterine muscles becomes more noticeable as pregnancy advances. This is known as the Braxton Hicks contraction. (waa... name also so canggih hor.. hehe)

You are more likely to experience this sensation after a busy day, exercise, or even when you are a bit dehydrated.

I should make sure that Yvonne doesn't 'overwork' herself and importantly to take more fluids. Plus one thing to note is that if you experience this for more than four times in an hour, then you should let your doctor know. The good news is, Braxton Hicks begin the process of ripening of mum-to-be cervix which might mean easier labour for you.

Besides all the changes in you, your little baby is also going through some changes. At 20cm from crown-to-rump and about one poun (500gm) mark, the baby's lungs begin to develop surfactant. And his/her fingernails are now fully/completely formed. (err... what is surfactant har???)

Surfactant is a substance that will help our little baby's lungs to expand following his/her birth (ooohh... now i know what is that surfactant... ) =p

Embarrasing Moment

It was about 6pm, "Quick. We are running late for ADR's wedding dinner." Yvonne said to me. The wedding dinner reception was at Bangi and we are not very familiar with that place, so at 6pm it's consider pretty late for us to start our journey (hai ya.. what 2 do. We don't go ronda ronda everywhere wan.. hehehe ;p )

Luckily we reached there on time, right before the dinner started. I was so relief. But it didn't last long lor... The very second I stepped out of the car, I saw my toes. OMG!!! I forgot to put on my shoes, and was still wearing my slipper!!! WA LAU EH!!!

So can imagine myself. From the top, hair combed nicely, dressed neatly for the occasion. BUT I WAS STILL WEARING SLIPPERS.

That night in the hotel there got one Cina Apek running around wearing slipper.. hahahahahahhaha

??? Coffee Protects Ur Heart..???

Had a short conversation with my sister-in-law yesterday afternoon in my house, and she's in her usual self (the lazy, sleepy eyed lady) laying down on our 3-seater sofa.

So I asked her, "hey.. haven't got ur daily shot of coffee ar?" which she happily replied, "got... only coffee from the kopitiam near the pasar. Still haven't got my Nescafe yet." Then after pausing for a moment, she said "u know what... drinking coffee is good lor. People say it's good for our heart."

I have never heard before that coffee or caffeine is good for our heart... so I could only response her with a "HAR..!!?? Sure or not...? Don't bluf me ler, I no go school wan, ok" ;p

So Tired...

Just came out from a full day training, and now I am so exhausted and brain-dead. Dunno how long I can tahan this long full-day training.

Songs For Small Children

Yvonne is on leave today and she's now listening to some nursery rhymes when I sms-ed her. Along the way in our conversation she asked me to go download some nursery rhymes for our little baby which I "obeyed" ;p

And now that I have finished downloading some of the nursery rhymes, I am very eager to listen to those songs as it has been many years that I last listen to nursery rhymes... hehehe

I listened to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", "London Bridge Is Falling Down", "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and "I am a little Teapot". These songs have in fact brought me back to my childhood period when I was still in kindergarten and primary school. Still remember that my favorite lesson is Music Class. It was when all of us, children, get to sing songs together with our teacher (and most importantly, NO HOMEWORK. hahahahaha)

Do you still remember all the nursery rhymes that you sang when you were still in school? How many nursery rhymes you sing to your little baby? I think I am gonna start today.. hehe

Home Alone

Yesterday was a boring day.. bcos I was home alone plus got nothing interesting showing on TV (hehe.. i don't have Astro lar. That's why.. hehe) ;p

So I went 'da pao' Cantonese fry (yin yong) for dinner. Guess what...it didn't taste nice but I was hungry so gotto eat. (beggers can't be choosers, u see. hehehe ;p)

The Story Of A Donkey

Received this short story about a donkey and I think it's worth sharing.

The Story of a Donkey

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.

At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit its back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, Everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off.

This story of a donkey teaches us that our life is full of challenges and life is going to shovel dirt onto us. But we can shake it off as each of our challenges (dirt) is a steppingstone. Most importantly we shall not give up and learn from each challenges that comes.
