I'll need to continue dreaming to get an appreciative Thank U from those bunch of unappreciative (in-laws) goons.If u still remember, I've mentioned that they were renovating their house recently n their contractor that did up their floor tiles is one of my wife's friends. And since they hv finished their tiling work n now it's time for those in-laws of mine to pay up. Isn't that normal..? U let them do up ur floor tiles n then upon job completion, u pay.
Yvonne's friend has just made a courtesy call to ask when can her brother n sister make the final payment since the job is done. (What'd u do? Of course u gonna call either ur brother or sister to ask rite..?) Guess what Yvonne get when she call her brother to ask about the payment.
She was BLARDY SCOLDED by her brother!!! (WHAT IS THIS!!!??) We are doing U a favor here U know. We get a reputable tiler to do up ur floor with reasonable price n we didn't even earn anything from here. And in the end, what do we get. BLARDY SCOLDED by that unappreciative goon.
To hell with U!!! Don't U blardy expect our offer to help from now!!!!

I'm sorry to say but sometimes or most of the time, relatives tend to take things for granted. Especially since you got some of their stuff done and then take ages to repay you back. (I'm taking about $$$ involved transactions here) To them the whole thing about being 'related' tends to make them think that you'll give them extra privelages in repayments. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience!
Maybe what you could do is get the contractor to chase the client instead of going through you. In that way, you will not get caught in the middle of things? But then again they might come complaining about a persistent contractor that you guys recommended too...
I guess you'll get bitten both ways huh...
