Do Not Give Up & Don't Judge Life By One Difficulty

YellowPost

Saw this issue (Issue 25) on the table in my mother-in-law's house few days ago. Honestly, this is the first issue that I have came upon, which I later found that Yellow Post was launched by the TM Info-Media Sdn Bhd (TMIM) last September.

Pretty good piece of paper though. But what draws my attention is the section "My Column" by one Yvonne Foong.

There, on the header, she describes herself as "Student, Freelance Writer And Patient of Neurofibromatosis". At that very moment I wonder what is this Neurofibromatosis all about. 'So I set out to make research on this topic, which I am likely to post it here in time to come.

Back to my topic today.

Yvonne wrote in her column about not judging our life at its setbacks. And proceeded to tell us a story which I would like to share with all.

A man wanted his four sons to learn not to judge too quickly. So he sent them each in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away..

The first son went in Winter; the second, Spring; the third, Summer; and the youngest, in the Fall. When they had all gone and came back, the man called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent and twisted. The second son said no, it was colored with green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed; he said the tree was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them. He said it was ripe, and dropping with fruit, and full of life and fulfilment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree's life. In the same way, you cannot judge a person by only one season, and that the essence of who they are - and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life - can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's Winter, you will miss the promise of Spring, the beauty of Summer, and the fulfilment of Fall. Don't judge life by one difficult season. Don't let the part of the season cancel out the joy of all the others.

i think i have read somewhere before... it's very true... we all have our ups and downs... should not judge a person by just 1 instance alone.
